How to set up

Step 1: Open the Google Wallet app or download it on Google Play

Google Pay supports all Android mobile devices from Nougat 7.0 and above.

Step 2: Sign in to your Google account

When you firstly open Google Wallet, you will be asked to log in your Google account. If you do not have one, you can create right there.

Step 3: Set up a finger print/PIN/iris security method on your mobile device

Step 4: To add your Shinhan VISA card to Google Wallet, tap ‘Add to Wallet’ and follow the instructions

Step 1: Just add your Shinhan Visa credit or debit cards to Google Wallet to get started

Step 2: When you’re ready to pay, please unlock your phone then hold it near the POS reader and the notification of successful transaction would pop-up in mobile phone


What is Google Pay?

Google Pay is a secure and easy-to-use mobile payment service leveraging on a new proprietary technology called Near Field Communication (NFC). It enables users to make contactless payments with their Shinhan VISA card on their Android mobile device conveniently at almost retailers in Vietnam without bringing the physical cards.

Why should I use Google Pay?

Google Pay offers a simple and convenient payment experience that is faster rather than looking for your card in your wallet or bringing too much cards in purse. In addition, Google Pay adds a level of security to your payment information when compared with physical cards.

Which devices are compatible with Google Pay?

Google Pay supports all Android mobile devices from Nougat 7.0 and above.

Which Shinhan Bank card can be used with Google Pay?

All Shinhan VISA consumer and corporate credit/debit cards can be added to Google Wallet for contactless payments with Google Pay.

How secure is Google Pay?

Google Pay is more secure than using a physical debit or credit card. Your actual card number will be encrypted during the transaction and this helps protect you from privacy regulations breaches.

Can Google Pay make online purchases?

Google Pay can be used to make transactions in stores, make in-app payments, and make online payments.

What should I do if my device is lost or stolen?

If your device is lost or stolen, you can use Find My Device service to lock Google Pay (remotely disable) or to delete Google Pay (remove all the payment cards registered onto your device).
