Along with the grown of e-Banking services rapidly, high-tech criminals have more and more sophisticated forms of fraud. To help you be aware and raise your vigilance, proactively take measures to protect personal assets when performing transactions, especially online transactions and non-cash payments. Shinhan Bank Vietnam Limited (“Shinhan Bank”) would like to warn you about some common scams as follows:
1. Only install the Bank applications directly on app stores such as Play Store (Android operating system) and App Store (IOS operating system).
2. Be cautious of calls claiming to be from officials of government agencies requesting the installation of counterfeit applications (Ministry of Public Security, General Department of Taxation) through links, websites disguised as app stores.
3. DO NOT access links or scan QR codes or open file attached received via SMS/Email/Social Network Accounts without verifying the sender's information.
4. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT provide personal information such as usernames, bank account number, password, OTP code, ID number, etc. to anyone, including bank employees or claiming to be police officers, telecommunications company staff, postal workers, tax officials, etc.
5. PROACTIVELY verify information before making requests and transactions through the official communication channels of Shinhan Bank as follows:
