Asset depository and safe-keeping service:

Common types of investment funds in Vietnam market include:

Open-end fund (OEF)

An OEF is a type of investment fund in which investors can buy or sell fund certificates at any time based on the fund’s net asset value (NAV) at the time of the transaction.

The portfolio of an OEF is structured to be diverse, including stocks, bonds, money market instruments, and other assets that align with the investment objectives outlined in the fund’s prospectus.

Closed-end fund

A closed-end fund is a type of fund in which investors cannot redeem fund certificates. Closed-end fund certificates are listed and traded on the stock exchange like common stock.

Closed-end funds provide long-term financial investment benefits to investors because of the stability of holding the investment until maturity.

Exchange-traded fund (ETF)

An ETF is a type of investment fund in which its fund certificates are listed and traded on the stock exchange like common stock.

Securities investment funds are closely monitored by the SSC, the Board of Fund Representative, the Supervisory bank and the Auditing Company to ensure the rights of investors.

7. How do investors receive profits from OEF?

When invest in OEF for a specific period, if the price of the fund certificate rises to expected level, the investors can sell part or all of the fund certificates to gain the desired profit.

8. What is Supervisory bank? What is role of Supervisory bank?

Supervisory bank is the bank has the certificate of securities depository registration granted by SSC, providing services of custody securities and supervising asset management activities to the public fund, securities company.

The supervisory bank supervises the activities of the fund management company within the scope related to the public fund and securities company for which the bank provides supervisory services.
